l love working on commissions. I love the dialogue and the mixing of ideas and concepts between clients and myself. I’ve been very lucky so far in my creative career to have worked with fantastic people. Right now I’m working on some paintings for a nursery. They are so much fun to do and they make work feel like play.
Here are some common custom art requests –
- General fine art commissions. As you can see from the photos, I do mostly fine art commissions. If I’ve got time and you’ve got money, I’ll paint you a fruit bowl or a guitar or a mural in your kids’ bedroom. Sometimes I turn down a request if it doesn’t fall within my comfort level and style. I do require some art direction (you can read more about the process here) and a lot of lead time.
- Pet portraits. I love animals and I’d love to work on my pet portrait skills. I would need a couple of good high resolution photos in order to capture your pet’s personality, but if you have that then I’m willing to try! I’m also willing to do your pet turtle or hamster, whatever you’ve got.
- People portraits. I typically don’t do these. People are hard for me. Plus, I feel if I don’t know the person then it’s hard to paint them and photos don’t always tell enough about a person.
- Tattoos. I’ve designed one tattoo before. Depending on the style you’d like me to use, how involved your idea is and how much time I have in my schedule, I might be interested in doing it again. Always worth asking.
If you’re interested in placing a custom order or purchasing some art for the holidays, please email me. Have an idea that isn’t reflected here? Let me know! It never hurts to ask.
