studio update + we’re moving (again)

Not sure if anyone still comes here for a visit since I’ve been terribly neglectful of this space over the past few months. With Instagram being so quick and immediate, it makes posting over there so much easier and faster. As of late I’ve been keeping up with business and getting ready for One of a Kind Chicago which is happening in two months. I participated in three summer art festivals this year and will be posting a recap of the season sometime next week. I also just updated my Etsy shop with lots of new items and marked down a few pieces too. Take a look here to see if there’s something you like. When I’m not in the studio, I’ve been packing and cleaning. Our current living situation is changing again. A few weeks before we finished phase 2 of our renovation, we did something crazy and put in an offer on a different house. So we hurried up and finished the renovation and put our current house on the market. It’s been a whirlwind to say the least. My current motto has been live in the now and enjoy what you have today because everything can change so quickly. I’ll share more stories about our renovations and photos of the finished rooms soon. This home (and year) has definitely been an adventure for Marc and me! I’d love to hear about your home buying experiences too. Have any of you done something crazy like this?

snapshots from california

california, road trip, san francisco, golden gate bridge, napa, wine tasting, big sur, yurt, santa barbara, palm treesAt the end of April, Marc and I spent eight days traveling down the West Coast, driving from San Francisco to LA. Above are some photos from our trip. We spent less than 24 hours in San Francisco – just enough time to browse the shops at the Ferry Building and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. In Napa, we spent most of our time eating and drinking. We had a phenomenal dinner at Goose & Gander, and Luna was our favorite winery. In Big Sur, we slept in a yurt and explored the foggy redwood forest. We stayed with a friend in her lovely bungalow home in Santa Barbara, hiked Rattlesnake Canyon and went to happy hour in the Funk Zone. It was a grand adventure, and I’m hoping to go back to CA soon!

neutrals

etsy, art, design, interiors, home decor, ceramics, poster, fashionWow, it’s been months since my last post! The first half of the year has been a whirlwind. Between our trip to the Dominican Republic and our California road trip, preparing for art fair season and starting phase 2 of our home renovation, I am exhausted. The upside is now I have a bunch of updates that I’ll be sharing with you over the next few weeks. So stay tuned! For now, I thought I would share some items I currently have my eye on. I have to have that cactus poster!

We’ve lived in our house for eight months now. Eight months! I’m tired of making excuses for our house not looking the way I want it to (at least the rooms that aren’t being renovated) so my goal this month is to get this place looking more finished. I stumbled upon the Cloth & Goods website recently and I quickly started adding several of their items to my wishlist. I tend to gravitate toward neutrals with pops of navy blue here and there, mostly in art and accessories. Here are a few favorites –

cloth and goods, design, interiors, textiles, indigo, ceramics, pottery, pillows
