diamond lake
A few photos from the long holiday weekend at the lake. We stayed with my family in the same cozy little cottage we rent every year. We took long boat rides and walks along the water. We lounged on the porch, stayed up late playing card games and made s’mores around the bonfire. There were slow mornings and impromptu trips to the icecream shop in the evenings. I realized getting away was exactly what we needed and it was tough returning to a messy house, and a long list of to do’s!

happy long weekend
Tomorrow evening I am closing up shop early and we’re hitting the road, heading north to Michigan for Labor Day weekend. Nothing special is on the agenda – just your standard exploring, eating, porch sitting and sun soaking. I refuse to accept that August is almost over. I feel like time is flying by so fast!
After a summer stuck indoors knee deep in house projects I know I’m ready for a little fun in the sun and these images are definitely putting me in the mood for long lingering days at the beach! Enjoy the holiday weekend!

weekly wander 02 | insta-travel
One of the greatest things about Instagram is not only the ability to share your own perspective with the world, but the ability to discover new things too. Before our European adventure, I did a little searching and stumbled across some really inspiring Instagram accounts, and now when I scroll through my feed it majorly fuels my wanderlust! I can’t stop day dreaming about Paris, mosaic tiles, lavender fields and day trips to the beach. Here are a few favorites –

Before any more time passes, and a new trip takes center stage, I wanted to share these last few photos from our European adventure. We spent the day exploring Reims and Epernay admiring beautiful chateaus and taking tours of underground cellars and most importantly drinking lots of to-die-for champagne.

Photos from our last night in Paris strolling beneath the Eiffel Tower after a Seine river cruise and one of the best dinner experiences of my life – salmon salads and decadent chocolate soufflés and making friends with the sweetest elderly couple sitting nearby. I knew this would be one of those evenings I would be nostalgic for later on and I already am.
