studio update + cyber monday sale
It’s here, the last month of 2014! I am popping in with a few updates that I would like to share with you. First, today is the last day to take 20% off EVERYTHING in my Etsy shop. Here’s how it works – go to my Etsy shop, select your items, and enter code holiday20 in the coupon code box at checkout (you will see the savings reflected upon checkout and when paying via PayPal). Offer good through midnight tonight. Thanks to everyone who has already purchased something! Also, make sure you are following me on Facebook and Instagram. I will be announcing more holiday sales over there throughout the next couple of weeks! Lastly, it’s been non-stop in my studio. I have a few custom orders to finish and I’m still producing new art for Etsy and the Bucktown Holiday Art Show – more details coming soon. It’s that time of year when working weekends seems unavoidable. I have to admit the chaos makes me excited and seeing snow this past weekend definitely put me in the holiday spirit.

If you’ve been following along on our home renovation, you know that we’ve done (and are still doing) a lot to make the space our own. I am still not quite settled into my new studio (although it is doing much better than the rest of the house right now). I had a few ideas about the feeling I wanted to achieve in this space – white walls, lots of natural light, plenty of storage and since this is KZ headquarters I wanted to make sure to get a little color in there too. These photos are roughly what I have in mind –
My dream has always been to do more than just art, but also to host events, collaborate with other creatives, set up photo sessions and create without limitations. This space opens the doors to many of those things. Still left to do in the studio – replace the light fixture, install shelving, hang bulletin/mood board and purchase/hang curtains. studio update
The month of October I’ve been swamped – lots going on over here and not a lot of downtime. As much as I hate having to shuffle my artwork to the back burner, house projects, travel plans, parties to prep for and friends to see have made it unavoidable. Plus when you are a one woman show, it can become quite daunting to manage all of the priorities by yourself, and sometimes certain things have to give. In previous years I’ve been very dedicated to my art. I try to set ambitious, but realistic, goals for myself. This year, because of everything else that’s going on, I knew that I would have to be a bit more flexible and not so hard on myself with meeting my goals. I hope to get back into the creative swing of things soon! Above are a few images of what’s been keeping me so busy lately via Instagram. Instagram has become such an amazing way to share life’s little moments, so if you aren’t following me there yet, be sure to check it out and please say hello – I’m always looking for fun new people to meet and follow!

ARTober | custom artwork sale
Custom orders are a lot of fun. They push me out of my comfort zone and give me a chance to try new things – from a bowl of fruit to an antique car or a mural in your child’s bedroom, I am open to try anything!
How does it work? Once you contact me, we will discuss your desired order – exchange ideas, discuss colors, sizes, materials, etc. I do appreciate some art direction – photos, fabric swatches, magazine clippings or anything at all. These things help me visualize while I’m painting and will inspire your custom piece. Then I will give you a price quote which will include a shipping estimate if necessary. I do charge a small fee for custom work, this fee is otherwise known as a commission. This covers any additional material costs and the extra time it takes to plan, sketch and paint a custom order – I really try my best to deliver exactly what you want! If the quote works for you, I will set up a custom listing in my Etsy shop, and once I receive payment, I will begin working on your piece. I have a full time job so I work on my art in the evenings and on the weekends. Custom paintings usually take anywhere from two to six weeks to complete. If you have a deadline, let me know. I am happy to work with you if I can. During the process I will send one or two progress images to give you an idea how your order is taking shape, and I will make any desired changes at this time. Once your piece is complete, I will wrap, package and ship it to you. If you’re local, we can arrange a pick up.
So now through the end of October I am offering a 15% discount on all custom orders. Already see something you like? I’m also offering 10% on all paintings available in my shop – including prints! Use coupon code “artobersale” at checkout. Custom artwork can be seen on my kate zitzer art board on Pinterest. I also offer custom colors and custom sizes on any of my paintings. Interested in working together? Contact me at kzbykatezitzer[at]gmail.com for more information.
