Over the weekend I celebrated my 28th birthday. For me, January really means a clean slate and a fresh start. I love taking the time between the new year and my birthday to reflect on the past year and plan for the next. Looking back I realized I accomplished so much this year – we traveled, I hosted my first (and second) dinner party, my art turned in a new direction, we completed several big projects in our home, we rescued a dog, I took on many custom painting projects, we grew closer to old friends and made new ones, I participated in two local art fairs, we celebrated our first anniversary, I started this blog. Twenty seven was a very good year! So I don’t intend to make any long lists for the next year – just a few simple thoughts. I want to continue on this healthy, happy, creative path. I plan to live in this moment of gratitude and optimism as long as possible and try not to worry about what’s next. I want to bake more especially from my grandmother’s cookbook. And most importantly I plan to pursue my creative endeavors with more passion and more determination than ever before – I know I am ready to take the next step! I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store!
