Early Monday morning we set off towards Savannah. The stretch between Charleston and Savannah was endless marshland. The city was moody and gorgeous. Spanish moss hung from tall live oaks and the architecture was stunning. We took our time wandering through the city, strolling along the river and through the gardens and squares and stopping for a long leisurely lunch to fill up on cornbread and biscuits and bbq. As we made our way back to Charleston later in the evening I watched the sun setting and realized slowing down was exactly what we needed.
